The shower was wonderful, best ever. Perfect spray and great water pressure. Room was very comfortable and quite. Easy parking, short drive to lake but too far to walk.
Horrible Food. Breakfast was ok but don't eat dinner there. Really slow service, several mix-ups on the order and when the meal did arrive the food was not very good. Also phone prices seemed high.
The hotel had a friendly relaxed atmsophere an had an 'away from it all ' feeling. Bar meals were good quality as was the breakfast. The location was great to explore the west of Windermere and the bathroom was modern and roomy.
Although the bedroom was a good size there were no bedside cabinets (I'm being very fusssy).
Largest bathroom we have ever seen at a hotel.
Could have done with some bedside lamps and tables. I believe these are on order so we can check when we next stay.
They took dogs and welcomed them in the bar. The food was good and the decor and atmosphere excellent.
Lighting in the the bedroom - bedside lights needed and a bedside table.
It was nice and quiet at night and all the country sounds that we miss. It was also extremely dog freindly, and not only to the guests but to other walkers aswell who popped in for drinks and the bar.
I did miss having a bed side table for my glasses and lipice but nothing else.
Good vaule, great location easy to commute to shops via ferry transport. Beautiful views...
The most dog friendly place we have ever stayed in and would definitely go back for this reason alone. Nice beer garden. Pleasant and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and posh bath.
Needs bedside tables/ somewhere to put clothes that don't hang up in a wardrobe, and somewhere to put toiletries next to the bath.
This was an add on night after 4 nights elsewhere in the lake district. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment at the moment, all the rooms are complete but the outside is still to be completed. Don't let this put you off, the rooms have been finished to a high standard. Our room was spotlessly clean and had all the bits and pieces in that you might expect. We had our evening meal at the hotel, a varied menu and our meal was excellent. The staff were really good and our waitress had a lovely and easy smile. Overall our Sawrey Hotel experience was excellent and hopefully we will repeat it soon. Ashley and Christine Ashcroft.
Nice clean room and excellent bathroom. Friendly, attentive staff and probably the best dog friendly hotel we have stayed in. Definately relaxing.
Tranquility, location, scenery, walks & essence of the English countryside.
Hotel is excellent, lots of character with modern fittings and mid week deal excellent value
The staff were friendly and helpful
There were no bedside lights, the television did not work, we asked for it to be resolved and it was not. They appeared short staffed, and this mean long waits for service at dinner, and the phone at reception was on occasion not answered. I would however recommend it - only because the staff were so nice!
Comfortable rooms, good food, relaxed welcoming atmosphere, enjoyed the quirkiness between the old and the new areas within the hotel. Dog friendly will be a bonus for next visit.
fabulous rooms very pet friendly
We had a lovely couple of days at the Sawrey Hotel. Clean and tidy room with excellent breakfasts and evening meals. Ideal if you like walking with excellent scenery. Within easy reach of Hawkshead and Bowness on Windermere via the ferry.
